Simple Lemon Caper Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons (2 oz) unsalted butter.
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest.
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • 2 teaspoons capers, drained.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons finely chopped parsley.
  • Salt to taste.

Method

  1. Melt the butter in a small skillet or sauté pan over low heat.
  2. Add the garlic, lemon zest, juice and the capers.
  3. Bring to a simmer and continue cooking over low heat for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the chopped fresh parsley and salt to taste.
  5. Stir and remove from the heat.
  6. Drizzle the warm sauce over cooked shrimp, fish, potatoes, chicken, or turkey and serve immediately.
